I was a dumbshit and thought my class started at good old 9 am. So I get up at beautiful 7 to get ready for my first day of class. I'm yawning and wishing I had an extra hour. So to help myself get out of bed like any young a-dult I get on good old Facebook, reading it like it's the morning paper, to wake my little peepers up. Honestly though it works. After reading it your mind is racing with thoughts of everyones status's. You can no longer sleep because you can see all the words in your head like you're playing scrabble.
So I get up and now i'm excited for my first day of class. I was eager like a rabbit because monday class( the real first day) had gotten canceled due to "IRENE" I was so mad at the hurricane/tropical storm.
So I head off to school get there right on time and then I figure out my class doesn't start till fantastic 2 IN THE AFTERNOON.
silly silly Brooke.

"Are you from Texas? You say Houston funny."-My awesome cabbi of the day
A cab driver thought I was from Texas.
I got lost on the subway twice in one day.
I eat so much today because of all the walking. Grilled cheese and leftover subway are some of the deliciousness I consumed.
I talked to a girl around my age who lives in my building. I Think her name was Isabelle.
I watched Quest for Camelot and couldn't stop singing along. It's a flippin' fantastic movie. go watch
I got my books for school. I can't stop reading them.
I fixed my TV! go me.
I made myself a nice hot cup of Chai tea.
I'm ready for school to start.

The apartment across the street is jealous.
IT’S FINALLY DONE! Hazzah! My apartment is all decorated and put together looking like a delicious puff pastry at your local bakery that is decorated with the beautiful sugary pink frosting that you know you will have a crazy time licking off.
I LOVE IT. It’s me if I were an apartment. If I ever choose to be an apartment in my next life I will look like this.
I can’t wait to make friends so someone else can appreciate the greatest apartment in the world.
Here are the pictures I promised. And even if you don’t like it it’s still the greatest apartment in the world. I would just accept that now.

A man's face
So I went to see the Broadway musical Memphis. It was amazing. One of the major things in it was racial equality in the 60’s and the actors did a fantastic job of showing all the emotion each side had.
There was this older white man sitting next to me. He looked to be around 80 or 85 so he would have been young man in the 60’s. At the end of the play during the very last triumphant song everyone was standing and clapping and I could see a tear drip down his face. He couldn’t stop wiping his eyes. I just saw it on his face that he remembered everything from the past and all the racism he probably was told to have against blacks. I could tell though he wasn’t crying because the show was so great, moving or beautiful. He was crying because he sees now how things have changed for the better and he was happy. It’s crazy how one face could tell you all of this.

Gemini14
So today I went to this awesome salon called GEMINI 14. It’s run by two sisters who are twins. So already this place is frickin’ cool. They are some of the coolest people ever. And I loved talking to them. They were some of the friendliest people ever. They know what they’re doing. The place was awesome and the employees were fantastic. The red dye job on my hair is so magical even Ariel would be jealous. Like an idiot though I forgot to get a picture of the salon but I got some other stellar photographs for you to set you little peepers onto. If you are ever in NYC and need a great cut, dye or treatment go to Gemini 14. This place is the bee’s knees.
Now I am off to the Broadway musical Memphis, which my dad picked out. I would rather see Book of Mormon but hey dad’s helping out with the rent so I guess that means he is entitled to first choice.
Then off to china town to get some of that Chinese food made by real china men. I’m excited.
the awesome tea cup they served coffee to me in <3
rockin' that delicious troll doll look.
hair swatches to find my perfect color.
The Chemistry Set aka the dye and mixing bowl
good old ice tea and one of the twins working.
onc of the twins working again.
a random picture I took of the street as I was riding in a taxi. I like it.

My cab driver is old school. He uses a map.
Getting a taxi in NYC isn't like how they get them in the movies. In the movies right when you put out your hand one swoops in all set and ready to get you. In reality you stand for about a good 5 minutes arms aching and full of bags and objects. Once in awhile you get the movie taxi and when you do it's awesome. But the rest of the time you get the good ol' NYC taxi. It's a big pot of joy.
I always seem to get in the taxi with the noob driver. It's so scary. Mine once got pulled over by a cop because he took a wrong turn. I wanted to get out so badly. Today i jumped into another taxi with a major noob driver. He drove like a demon, didn't know which way noho was and my favorite, he used a map. He said he " don't need no GPS" he had his handy dandy map. When he couldn't figure out how to get to noho I pulled it up on my phones gps. Lets just say I saved the day. One point for me.

Hipsters Hipsters everywhere and not enough Urban Outfitters to fit them all.
Lugging boxes and heavy suitcases up four flights of stairs is no easy task, my friend. MY arms feel so ripped right now. I’m beastly. I’m officially a resident of New York City. Gahh! I’m so happy. I’ve dreamed about this all my life. My apartment right now is a mess I’m still unpacking but it’s coming along. I promise once it’s all done I will post glorious pictures and you will be allowed to drool. I’m still waiting for my bed and couch and other furniture items. I can’t wait to set it all up.
I love everything about where I am.
I’m in NOHO so it’s super artsy and hipster. It’s so fantastic. Everyone is wearing a fedora and looking swell. My apartment is cute and cozy. The worker are so friendly. The city is brilliant. The energy is flying everywhere faster than the dirty cute pigeons.
This city is magic. It’s perfect. I can’t wait to get lost in it.

Cheap hotels are the shit.
This weekend I went with my sister April and best friend/lover Stevie to see a concert on Cocoa beach. The drive was around 2 hours and 30 minutes. It sucked balls…Actually it wasn’t that bad. We had Mcdonalds for breakfast like fatties and it was godly.
The beach was beautiful the sand was hot as fire on our feet. The waves were so big.
At the concert you could smell pot everywhere…it made me light headed .No good.
We stayed at a La Quinta. I loved it. For some odd reason I love taking showers and sleeping in cheap hotels. It makes me feel like I am on a big road trip. It was fantastic.
Here are some pictures that I took so you can make believe that you were there too.
my sister April.
My lover Stevie. The best boy ever.
kitties kitties everywhere.

New fears and goals to replace the old.
God the anticipation is killing me! I can’t wait to move! I’ve finished packing boxes upon boxes. All my lifes most important things…packed into 14 boxes. I’ve been so stressed out because of this move. I’m starting a whole new life so that makes things a little difficult.
I feel so much older it’s crazy. I think back to my freshman year of highschool…How young…the awful hair cut…the horrible clothes. Back then the only thing I worried about was high school. Now in my new life I’ve got everything to worry about , money , bills, new friends, finding an agent., worry about someone breaking into my place. I wouldn’t want to go back though. I love these new fears and new goals. Sometimes a little stress is good.
But a massage would be stellar right about now.
What i need oh so badly.
I promise to write more soon. NYC is coming up and my blog will take a turn for the more exciting. Get ready ;)

Don't come at me with needles. Don't half ass what you love.
When I read blogs I like to know the face of the writer. It’s good to put a face to things. I also like to know somethings about the person. So I will elaborate a little on myself.
My name is Brooke Baumgart and I’m 18 years old. I’m moving to NYC is a week. Ever since I was little I’ve wanted to be an actor and singer. It’s a passion of mine that has grown stronger each and every year. It’s the only profession I want. Don’t ask me what my backup plan is. There is none. I’ve noticed that people who have backup plans never achieve what they really want. You have to give your all to what you love. When you have a back up plan you’re half ass-ing it. I don’t half ass my dream.
I’m not someone who sits around and waits for things to happen. I make them happen myself. Hence moving to the big city.
I’m attending The New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts. It’s a fantastic acting school that I know will help me with my craft.
I love many things
Art
Wolves
Writing stories
Music
Fashion
Iced Mocha Coffee
The Cool Cats( who I will talk about in a later post.)
Stevie
Panic at the Disco
Say Anything
Ice skating
Family
Disney movies
I hate needles going into skin. I hate doctors and the Dentist because of all the sharp objects. I get panic attacks if they get too close. The Dentist had to prescribe me Xanax to cope.
I used to have major anger issues. It’s better now. I can be emotional but I say that will only help me with my acting.
I believe everything happens for a reason. Everyone you meet has a purpose in your life. That’s one major thing I have noticed. Everyone I have met, every close friend I have made can and will have a purpose in my future.
It’s nice to stand back and look at the picture of friends you have made, it shows you what you have gained.
